Plan Atlantik

While Christmas eve is getting closer, another preparation keeps me busy:

I am working through the preparation lists for an atlantic crossing! Yes, it's true!

It's not Skokie to go on this sail. Volker, skipper of our buddy boat „MickMoon" asked me to accompany him on his way to the Caribbean. Since this bluewater trip is my dream for a very long time, I take this opportunity to make this dream comes true. So Volker and me will do most of the passage doublehanded.

The boat to go with, is a Ketsch, an Amel Sharki, 12m x 3,6m, the Yacht of Volker and Vera. We met this very friendly and nice couple a few years ago in Kalmar, Sweden. Since then we saw us a few times more and became friends.

While we were exploring with Skokie the far north of the Baltic Sea, MickMoon has sailed the Biscay, than from Porto to Madeira and finally to the Canary Islands, where the preparation for the ocean passage is continuing.

It is planned to start mid of january from Lanzarote to Cabo Verde. Let's see how it will be in reality.
